Create new Geometry Generators

You can now create your own Geometry Generators. DepthSpace3D has now this feature available for all the users.
You can create three types of Geometry Generators:
• The old type only allowed the substitution of the vertices coordinates by the parameters
• Now you have the possibility to introduce parameterized calculation formulas, which allows a greater flexibility
• You can also create Extrusion parameterized formulas.

Movies

Movies was an undocumented feature of old versions.
Now, it has been improved and documented, allowing the creation of 3D animated graphics of the geometric model and results of space syntax analysis.

New Geometry Generators

A lot of new parameterized Geometry Generators have been added to DepthSpace3D:

New tree models that are near the simplified shapes and dimensions of actual trees and shrubs.

New geometric forms, like: Prisms, Pyramids and distorted platonic solids.

New extrusion generators: open or closed prismatic or pyramidal extrusions from a given set of points

Reports

You have now the possibility to consult the numerical reports of the analysis.

Create new Quantities

You can now create your own Quantities. DepthSpace3D has now this feature available for all the users.
A new add-on allows the introduction of new SQL definitions of Space Syntax Quantities, based on the primitive quantities (Distance, Visibility and Depth) and all the others that have been created and saved in the database.
Responding to the call of users, two changes to the editing features of 3D drawings were made:

Print

You can now print directly the drawings and reports of the space syntax analysis, from the user interface.

New Space Syntax Quantities

A lot of new derived Space Syntax quantities have been added to the SQL database of available quantities.
Those SQL definitions may also help you to create new ones.

Import STL files

In the tab Import, it’s possible to import a model of the Surfaces, from a file with the format STL.
Several CAD digital tools, such as Revit and ArchiCAD may export STL files. So you can model the geometry of your Project in other software applications and then import it to DepthSpace3D.
The Import only affects the Surfaces. Paths and Volume must be defined inside DepthSpace3D.

The geometric model produced in the CAD software must have the same origin of coordenates and the same scale of your DepthSpace3D model.
The file to import contains some geeometric model that will be added to an existing Surface Group, or to a new one. Maybe you will prefer to export the model produced in the CAD software in pieces, saved in several different files, so you can assign different Surface Groups to each of them.

The operation is as follows:

Choose the file to import:

If you prefer, you can browse your computer, clicking the button:

The current browser from MS-Windows will appear, where you may be able to select the file you want to import.

Choose the Surface Group of the imported geometry

Select the Surface Group where you will append the geometry imported from the file. It may be a new or an existing one.
You put the name of the Surface Group in the text box:

If you want to use an existing Surface Group, it will be better if you choose the Surface Group in the combobox with all the Surface Groups already in the Project:

and then click the button:

Proceed to Import:

Click:

and the ceometry will be imported, and it will appear in tre crawing

Some error messages may appear, if you didn't select a file, or the file does not exist or it is not an STL file.
